After a beautiful and invigorating weekend of preparations at the rustic Putney Student Travel barn, our Dominican Republic program has taken shape! We have planned some meaningful projects in the town of La Guazara, and excursions to other diverse regions of the island. Barahona, where we will spend most of our time, is a tranquil province with a rich culture, and a love for baseball and bachata. Bring your sunscreen, your dancing shoes, and leave your vergüenza at home!

Until the trip, read up on the history of the island, and study up on some Spanish. Be sure to consult your packing list, and bring modest working clothes for our time in the town.
