We Bring You a Haiku: By Elizabeth L. and Lila M.

The following post features student writing.

Floors

Working all day long

Each day a new floor is built

Now they have a floor.

This haiku reflects that we put a lot of hard work into building the floors, but it is rewarding when we reflect on the fact that we just provided a family with a floor to their house. – Elizabeth L.

Veggie Empanadas

Masa, agua, sal

Filling the dough with veggies

Time to fry these up.

*masa = Dough.

Today after working on the cement floors, Ava, Elizabeth, and I walked to Yakari’s house where she taught us how to make empanadas, which we then served for dinner! – Lila M.
