CHAZ DAGNINO

During college, Chaz worked as an emergency department technician at a hospital and as an instructional aide teaching chemistry labs at Arizona State University. He was an active member of student organizations focused on community service, cultural exchange, health, and education; worked on a medical mission in Honduras; taught English in South Korea for a summer; and traveled throughout South America while studying in Argentina. Chaz volunteered with the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic for two years, where he lived in a rural community and used his nutrition degree to work on projects centered on adolescent development, reproductive health, obesity and noncommunicable disease prevention, and women’s empowerment. While in the Dominican Republic, he also translated for Dental Brigades, worked closely with projects promoting HIV testing and education, and was the activities coordinator for a camp for youth living with HIV. Chaz is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree through which he hopes to combine his talents in medicine and background in health care access both domestically and abroad. Chaz is a native speaker of both Spanish and English.
LISA HAMILTON

While at the University of Virginia, Lisa spent a semester in Valencia, Spain, where she studied Spanish culture, art, and language. She has traveled to Nicaragua several times, where she volunteered in local schools and orphanages. After she completed her master’s in teaching, she taught high school humanities at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, and traveled throughout southeast Asia. She led a service trip for high school students to the remote hill tribes of northern Thailand, where students hiked to secluded villages and learned about the diversity in Thai cultures and livelihoods. Lisa taught 8th grade civics for three years and currently teaches 11th grade U.S. history, mentors students, and is her school’s head women’s soccer coach. She is fluent in Spanish and has twice led Putney’s Middle School Costa Rica program.
